I worked all day today but…
I worked all day today but was able to make a few calls and send out a few emails to find sponsors for; a place to train & get in shape, a place for athletic wear and gear, and a place to cover gas, food, lodging, and the expense to travel with a combination sports trainer/doctor/massage therapist.
Also, looked further into the route I’ll take. Its between going straight south from Winnipeg through the mid-west to the upper part of Texas and then turning West toward Los Angelees or going West across Canada until I hit the Rockies, where I would drive or fly over them and then in Vancouver, travel south to all the way down to Los Angeles.
Also figured that the trek could be closer to 3,300 km / 2,000 miles. Now, if I were to cycle 50 miles a day it would take 40 cycling days to reach my destination. Not sure if I add 50% of days for weather and injuries plus resting and walking.
So the trek will last all of May and some or all of June.
Not bad at all. Lots of time to think. LOL
I was also thinking, maybe nobody will notice or pay attention. Maybe I won’t raise a single cent. You know, hope for the best / prepare for the worst. But that’ll be okay. I’ll be in amazing shape. I’ll have a great experience and story to tell. And demonstrate how important it is to count on nobody but yourself. Be your own best cheerleader. Because if you don’t have you, who do you have?
