I’ve been in love with art, design, and architecture my entire life. I started fabricating furniture as a kid out of clay and cardboard.
I’ve been studying interiors for as long as I can remember, soaking in every detail wherever I went and paying close attention to TV shows and movies.
I spent hours at the library and newstands reading books and magazines dedicated to architecture, furniture.
During this period, I also discovered music and fashion, exploring every era & style, and made the connection how everything was intertwined and how each expression of the arts informed the other.
I studied Industrial Design at Wentworth in Boston and have taken stand alone courses and workshops along the way.
I’ve worked as a; metal furniture fabricator, installer, design consultant, showroom sales rep, project manager, CAD technician, interior designer, and now am principal at STEINBERG DESIGN studio & garage (incorporated).
I’ve had an incredible life living and working in Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. I’ve traveled extensively and enjoyed a close knit family, lifelong friends and wonderful opportunities.
My professional life actually began in the theater and then expanded into TV and film. I’ve worked as an actor, writer, producer, script reader, production assistant and in various other positions. I created and ran and theater festival in Toronton for 3 years and wrote a few play for various festivals. As an actor, I’ve had roles on Seinfeld, Frasier, Newsradio, The Larry Sanders Show, Married with Children and and various other shows.
I love travel, reading, health & fitness, xtreme sports, food (cooking & eating), & technology. Plus I’m a news junkie.
I’ve been dreaming, thinking, talking, researching, and planning this for years and now’s the time to “just do it”. I’ve attended two dozen business seminars on how to make this happen. I’ve written a business plan and hired interns to help render my concepts & drawings. I’ve phoned, emailed, Skyped, and met with various people on how to make this a reality.
This is the next step – raising money here will help me to fabricate enough pieces to take to trade shows to get some press as well some orders for retail stores and directly to designers for their projects.
Fundraising here will also demonstrate to financial institutions and seed investors, who I will approach for loans and start up money, that I’m pro-active in raising funds to get this furniture line off the ground.
Each step is an integral piece of the puzzle. This first step is HUGE and with your help I’ll be able to do it.
The funds raised here will go to;
-fabricating a handful of furniture pieces
-exhibitor expenses (entry fees, trade show booth, signage, and electrics)
-airfare to a few trade shows plus airport transfer fees
-hotels and food
-shipping/delivery of furniture pieces
– Trade Shows:
International Contemporary Furniture Fair, NYC
Interior Design Show, Toronto
Dwell on Design, Los Angeles
If for whatever my goal is not reached the money raised here will go to fabricating the furniture pieces, displaying them in my office/showroom for retailers, designers, and end-users to order, photograph them to put online for sale and finally, place a few pieces in retail shops.
Please pass this link on and my website and other social media profiles as well to help spread the word about this endeavor and my furniture line in general.
A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU FOR TAKING A MOMENT TO CONSIDER SUPPORTING ME!
